Interlochen Woman’s Club

DON’T FORGET.     To bring Hats, Mittens, Scarves to our November meeting.    For Silver Lake Elementary School 🍁🍂🍁

Our speaker will be Chief Daryl Case, the Fire & Emergency Services Director for our November Program. The Chief's speech will be primarily on Home & Fire Safety with an overview of Interlochen's fire & emergency services. Our luncheon will be a Thanksgiving special by our Home Life & Public Affairs members. November 2, at noon. Business meeting at 11 am at the Interlochen Public Library


Bake Sale at the Mid-terms, November 8th, at  Toms (again, we'll need volunteers to sign up). Baked goods to be dropped off at the New Library on Nov. 7th.  between 10:30 - 4:00....

D. Approval of Minutes of September 7, 2022, motion made by Pat Thompson, seconded by Marsha Gresso and carried.

E. President's report - Danielle Bieganowski -none at this time

F. Secretary's Report - Mary Pike

Any changes to Booklet information? Anyone need updated Booklet pages, name tag or Booklet cover? Is everyone getting the Newletters? Sign Up sheets will be passed around and New members booklets are on the front table.

Treasurer's Report - Susan Hughes

Reported the Balance in the checkbook of $3,288.22 including dues and donations.

H. DEPARTMENT REPORTS

​(1) Art Department: Barb Bayer - none

​(2) Conservation Department: Sue Messner - none

​(3) Education Department: Susan Hughes - none

​(4) Hm. Life and Public Affairs: Ruth McKelvey - Speaker for November meeting, EMS Services on home safety. Members to meet after our club meeting.

I. Committee Reports:

(1) Hospitality/Membership/Welcome Committee: Barb Cooper & Cathy Dierkes Barb Cooper read the profiles of Whitney Allen and Brenda Lewis. Brenda Lewis placed in Home Life and Public Affairs Department, per Ruth .

​(2) Sunshine Fund: Mary Pike- Birthdays this month - Susan Hughes & Mary Pike. Card given to Susan Hughes and Sunshine Basket passed around.

​(3) Ways & Means Committee: Barb Bayer - none

​(4) Club Historian: Susan Hughes - 5 minutes history - none

​(5) Media/ Communications: Pat Thompson- position open for news releases.....Pat reported that she places comical and uplifting posts on our Face book page each day.

J. Old Business:

Regarding the Bake Sale on November 8th, 2022, Barb Bayer said that Tom's is available to use (indoors). Motion made, seconded and carried.

Barb will check if they might have a sign for us to advertise the sale.

Number of shifts changed to accommodate being at Tom's: first shift starts at 7:30 and last ends 5:00 or when we run out of baked goods. Bake Sale sign up sheet for baked goods and to work shifts is sent around. Mary Pike to make up posters to put around town.

Regarding the Chicken Dinner to Go on October 19th, 2022, signup sheet to work handing out meals is passed around. As per Brian at the Hofbrau and Danielle Bieganowski, meals to be handed out the side or back door this year. Ticket sales to end October 13th.​

K. New Business

New members to Departments: Brenda Lewis to Home Life and Public Affairs, Whitney Allen to Arts and Debbie Witrig to Education.

Members to bring hats, mittens and scarves for the Silver Lake Elementary to November 2nd, 2022 meeting and again to the December meeting for K-5th graders.​
